Wagamama posts 7.4% annual LFL sales growth in UK


Casual dining noodle chain, Wagamama has reported results for the 53-week period to 219 April 2018, showing 7.4% UK like-for-like sales growth.

Group turnover rose by 13% to £300.6m, and adjusted EBITDA was up 0.4% to £45.7m (FY 2016/17: £45.5m).

The group continued expansion with 7 new UK restaurants opened in St Peters Manchester, Bedford, Leeds, White Rose, Cheltenham, Bracknell, Reigate and Colchester.

The company also opened two new US restaurants opened at Boston Seaport and East Village, New York City.

There was 31 refurbishments completed in FY 2017/18, bringing Kaizen design and
additional covers where possible to the existing estate.

During the period, 13 new franchise restaurants opened - Madrid (4 restaurants), Bergamo, Jeddah, Doha, Qurum, Malpensa, Dubai Mall, Parndorf, Utrecht and Larnaca.
