Travelodge launches 1,000-job recruitment drive with 11 hotels opening


Travelodge, one of the UK’s largest hotel chains which operate, 554 hotels across the length and breadth of the UK has today announced it’s looking to fill over 1,000 jobs in the lead up to Christmas.

This includes 700 full and part time positions across the company’s UK Travelodge hotels. There are 28 management roles (Hotel Manager and Assistant Hotel Manager). The other roles include: House Keeping Team Member, Receptionist, Team Member, and Bar Café Team Member.

The budget hotel chain is also opening 11 hotels across the UK in the lead up to Christmas. This expansion, which represents an investment of £79m for third party investors, will create 260 new jobs.

The new Travelodge hotels are located in the following locations:
East Grinstead
Gainsborough
Camborne Redruth
Chester
Solihull
York Monks Cross
Highbridge, Burnham on Sea
Lincoln
Walsall
Ashford
Bury St Edmonds

In addition, the company is looking to fill 15 positions at its head office in Thame, Oxfordshire which includes positions in: IT, Revenue, HR, Marketing, Customer Services and Sales.

Travelodge is also recruiting for five Maintenance Engineers to join its nationwide in-house Maintenance Team called ‘MIB’ who service the 554 UK Travelodge hotels.

Travelodge operates a successful in-house management programme called ASPIRE which helps entry level staff members to successfully climb the career ladder into management. Since the programme was launched it has helped over a thousand entry level staff members into a management position. Last year, 389 Travelodge staff members graduated from the Aspire programme.

Travelodge welcomes 19 million customers every year and currently has 12,000 colleagues working across the business. It is a growing company that has identified the potential to grow its business with a further 250 hotels over the next ten years.
