Red Mist Leisure invests £2.5m to create destination inn

2018 looks set to end on a high note for ambitious, award-winning entrepreneurs, Mark Robson and Mark Williams, founders of the independently run and owned Red Mist Leisure.

Their latest venture, The Wellington Arms in Stratfield Turgis will be the group’s largest refurbishment yet, investing £2.5m to create a destination pub with a function room and 25 boutique bedrooms, creating over 40 new jobs for the local area.

Situated on the Hampshire/Berkshire boarder within the Wellington Estate which covers 7,000 acres of parkland, woodland and farming land, owned by The Duke of Wellington and his family, The Wellington Arms aims to be a family-friendly pub, offering the perfect combination of a traditional English pub combined with relaxed, modern design.

Work on the pub and function room will be completed for opening by the end of November, turning the Wellington Arms into a destination establishment and like the other pubs in Red Mist Leisure’s portfolio, it will become renowned for its fresh, seasonal and local British food, as well as offering a wide array of local ales and craft beers. 25 stylish boutique bedrooms will be opening towards the end of January to cater for the business and leisure market.

Mark Robson, Managing Director, said, “The Wellington Arms is a real milestone for Red Mist Leisure as we head into our 15th year of trading and we have ambitious expectations for this site. We look forward to embracing a collaborative approach with the Wellington Estate to offer a destination pub with boutique bedrooms and a great function room to ensure that The Wellington Arms is everything we all want it to be.”
