Kitchen Table awarded second Michelin star

Kitchen Table, the 20-seat chef’s table which sees James Knappett and his team host intimate dinners with a daily-changing 12-course menu, has been awarded its second Michelin star.

Tucked away behind a curtain at the back of Bubbledogs in London's Fitzrovia, Kitchen Table was awarded its first Michelin star in 2014.

Each dinner is a dining experience, encouraging full interaction with the chefs and showcasing previously unseen kitchen theatre.

Sandia Chang, who is married to Knappett, is the Sommelier and General Manager of Kitchen Table. She personally selects the grower champagnes and wines in Kitchen Table’s cellar and has compiled a wine list of over 100 bins - primarily lesser-known fine wines from small producers - to accompany James’ dishes.

Knappet and Chang said, “We are extremely grateful and humbled to have received our second Michelin star last night. We woke up this morning feeling tremendously blessed with all the people that have supported us in the past six years.

'The team behind us now is the best we could ever ask for; their relentless dedication, loyalty, talent and belief has got us to where we are today.

'Thank you also to our wonderful guests, most of them are now our friends and some considered family. We promise to push forward every day and maintain the respect of this wonderful industry and the reputation of the Michelin Guide.”
