KFC to open new urban format store in Queensway with 100 planned

Fast food giant KFC has signed at a new location in Queensway via CDG Leisure, as part of an almost 100-strong London requirement for its new urban format store.

The fried chicken operator took a 1,412 sq unit, at the former Tuk Tuk Noodle site, on 54 Queensway.

Emma Wright, of CDG Leisure, who is overseeing the search, said, “This large requirement is a testament to the ongoing appeal of KFC and the strength of its brand. This is a great location for the operator which is popular with tourists and locals.”

The fresh store format, which was first unveiled in September with three opened since, has been designed to express the food company's true values, much loved food proposition and brand story through the experience in its restaurants.

The new look shows internal and external signage and graphics executed with a ‘fast casual’ sensibility rather than ‘fast food’, from ‘Hello, What’s Cluckin?’ in the windows to neon signage around the restaurant.

Messaging throughout the new space is vibrant and expresses KFC’s heritage and brand USPs. Digital screens allow for consistent new promotional content; and self-order kiosks – KFC’s first in the UK – transform customer flow and process.
