The Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG), owned by Ranjit Singh Boparan, is to close 27 Giraffe and Ed's Easy Diner outlets
The earmarked restaurants are to close under a proposed deal with landlords, according to Sky News. Rent reductions are reportedly being sought on a further 13 sites.
The move, which will leave the group with 60 eateries, is understood to affect more than 300 employees.
The company said that despite sales improving since the sites were bought in 2016, some unprofitable stores remained, so it had been forced to seek a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) to close them.
