Serious Pig hits £500k extended crowdfunding target

Premium snack brand, Serious Pig has raised over £500k from more than 1,300 investors, a record number for a raise of this size.

Founder George Rice (pictured) extended the Crowdcube campaign until 7 April to allow any last-minute investors to Own A Slice of the business.

The investment raised is going to be used to accelerate growth over the next three years. This includes expand the existing product ranges and taking the brand to the wider consumer market across the UK and beyond.

The snack brand which is based in the heart of Peckham already has the capability and structure to increase throughput by 500%.

James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog and existing investor has continued to advise the posh snack brand over the past four years. He has even personally invested in Serious Pig again during this round of funding.
