Bar Douro to open second site

London Bridge's Bar Douro, which is owned by restaurateur Max Graham, is to launch a second Portuguese wine bar this summer.

The new bar will open at the 1 Finsbury Avenue development at Broadgate, in the City, and will build on the success of the London Bridge outlet, which launched in November 2016.

The menu, created by Head chef Sean Marsh, will serve up modern Portuguese food, married with one of London’s largest selections of wines from the country.

Ingredients are sourced locally with specialist products imported directly from artisanal producers across Portugal.

A small-plate focused menu draws inspiration from the cervejarias and tascas of Lisbon and Porto and include classics like Bacalhau à Brás (salt cod hash) and Octopus with sweet potato.

Graham and general manager Sol Leon is working with independent Portuguese winemakers, to create a wine list featuring bottles not found in the UK.

Bar Douro City will also invite winemakers to collaborate on one-off events.
