Shake Shack will be throwing open the doors to its tenth Shack in the UK, and second outside London, at intu Lakeside, south east England’s favourite shopping destination, at 6pm on Thursday, 16 May.
A special break dance performance will kick off the grand opening, and the first 100 guests will be treated to limited edition tote bags and note books by local illustrator Kate Prior.
The Lakeside Shack will be spinning up 'frozen custard concretes' in collaboration with local purveyors:
> All You Need Is Lakeside - Chocolate custard, fudge sauce, ST JOHN chocolate hazelnut brownie, Paul A Young chocolate chunks, and chocolate sprinkles;
> The London Orbital – Vanilla custard, chocolate toffee, Paul A Young chocolate chunks, salted caramel sauce, and malt powder;
> Pie Oh My! – Vanilla custard and a slice of seasonal Outsider Tart Pie.
As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand for Something Good, the Lakeside Shack will donate 5% of sales from Pie Oh My! concrete to support Open Door, an independent charity providing help and support for children and young people in Thurrock since 1979.
The Lakeside Shack’s design features white oak and Carrara marble, used to give a light and bright colour palette, along with classic Shake Shack accents, such as black ATAS corrugated aluminium.
Shake Shack teamed up with local illustrator Kate Prior to create an art installation inside the Shack. The prominent piece shows off Prior’s signature style by creating a playful world of characters interacting with both Shake Shack elements and the local Lakeside community.
Shack fans will be able to get their hands on all the classics, including the signature ShackBurger, ShackMeister and SmokeShack, in addition to special menu items that can only be found at the Shake Shack Lakeside Shack.
