Interstate signs Sheffield’s Hampton by Hilton

Interstate Hotels & Resorts has been announced as the new management company for the Hampton by Hilton Sheffield.

The company, which counts more than 100 hotels and resorts across its UK and European portfolio, has been appointed by the property’s owners West Bar Hotel Ltd to operate the 142-bed hotel and play a key role in the future of its development.

Located on West Bar Green, close to the up-and-coming area of Kelham Island in the heart of Sheffield, the property is the first hotel that Interstate will manage in the city.

Built in 1965, the building is a former police station and where The European Cup was handed into after being stolen from Aston Villa in 1982.

Today, it is known as a centrally located, modern hotel ideal for both leisure and business travellers, just five minutes’ walk from the city centre and the city’s cathedral.

Nicholas Northam, Executive Vice President-International at Interstate Hotels & Resorts, said, “The Hampton by Hilton Sheffield is a fantastic addition to our portfolio, located just minutes away from the city’s fast-flourishing Kelham Island.

“We’re looking forward to making our mark on the operation of the property, drawing on our global scale and expertise to cement the hotel’s position as a leader in the city.”
