Healthy living high on the agenda at Nisa

Nisa is stepping up their support of the healthy food agenda this January with a ‘Healthy Living’ event designed to tap into shoppers’ new year resolutions to get into shape.

With Veganuary an increasingly popular pledge at the start of the year, alongside lower fat and sugar diets, Nisa has enhanced the product range in these categories enabling Nisa partners to better cater for their shoppers.

Category controller at Nisa, Joy McAleese, said, “Veganism is likely to be a main focus for many shoppers in January and so to help Nisa partners stock the right product ranges we have created easy to follow lists of products stocked in Nisa for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, free from and healthier shoppers.

“One of the most notable consumer trends we have seen recently is the shift to a more plant- based diet and dairy alternatives such as plant milks now make up a quarter of all free from sales.”

Brands available through Nisa include Alpro, Weightwatchers, Quorn, Linda McCartney and Cauldron as well as Co-op’s own label Free From range and their new plant-based brand ‘GRO’ that has just launched into Nisa and Co-op stores from January.

In addition to the products stocked in the Nisa range, an increasing number of lines are also available to Nisa partners through the Direct to Store channel, allowing retailers to stock even greater choice.

McAleese added, “It’s important that Nisa partners have access to a broad range in these categories, at competitive prices, to ensure they can cater for the changing demands of their shoppers and their store is the one shop destination for their customers this year.”
