Tower Bridge’s event business already 30% ahead for 2020

Tower Bridge, the only bridge in the world you can dine on, which is 42 metres above the Thames, hosts weddings, conferences, and exceptional dining events.

Seasoned, which operates the Bridge’s event business, is optimistic of an up-turn on trading conditions this year. It has seen a 30% increase on sales year-on-year. This comes at a time when London venues are facing turbulent times with cancellations of events due to terrorism at major tourist destinations.

Colin Sayers, Managing Partner, said, “We are seeing a confidence returning in event spend and the team are seeing a strong pipeline throughout the year with international business coming in to further bolster the returning UK market.“

This is good news for Tower Bridge as all income for venue hire goes towards Bridge House Estates (BHE), one of London’s oldest charities whose sole trustee is the City of London Corporation. Since 1282, BHE has maintained and supported five of London bridges.

Monies surplus to the Bridges’ needs are channelled through a charitable funding arm called City Bridge Trust – who donate almost £25m each year back to Londoners in need. This year is the City Bridge Trust 25th birthday and this growth of event sales will benefit the Trust.

The events business at the Bridge is managed by Seasoned Events who undertake all venue management, sales and marketing, and catering.
