Honest Burgers collaborates with Laine Brew Co for first house lager

On 17 March, Honest Burgers will launch its first house lager, Burger Beer developed in collaboration with Laine Brew Co.

Sticking true to their Brighton roots, Honest has joined forces with the Sussex brewery – based just 15 miles from where Honest’s potatoes are grown – to create the beer. After over six months of development, Burger Beer was born, becoming one of the first of its kind to be specially made to complement the flavour profile of a burger.

Made from just water, malted barley, wheat, hops and yeast, Burger Beer is a light lager that tastes great alongside the bold flavours of Honest’s burgers.

Its light bitterness and biscuity malt sweetness harmonises with Honest’s homemade caramelised red onion relish, which is used in the best-selling Honest burger.

The smooth, light carbonation makes for a refreshing lager that cleanses the palate and cuts through the rich fattiness of beef, cheese and bacon.

Honest Burgers’ Head of Brand Collaboration Adam Layton said, “Big-brand lagers are a bit like frozen chips – they can be totally fine but they’re the same from place to place and rarely as satisfying as homemade.

'We’d never serve a frozen chip, so we created a lager that can stand up to our burgers and – we think – make them taste even better.

'Laine Brew Co has strong ties with Brighton, where Honest was founded, and their brewery is just 15 miles from the farm that grows our potatoes. It made sense to keep it local.”
