Bakkavor wins Best Training Initiative award

Bakkavor Group has won the Best Training Initiative category for its Graduate Scheme at today’s FMT Food Industry Awards event.

The annual FMT Food Industry Awards recognises the hard work and excellence of food processors and manufacturers across the UK food sector as well as trade organisations, ingredients suppliers, machinery and equipment companies, packaging, product innovations, people and training.

The 2020 awards ceremony took place at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London and was hosted by Michel Roux Jr, the two-star Michelin chef of La Gavroche and a well-known and highly regarded celebrity chef, TV presenter and restauranteur.

The Bakkavor Graduate Programme acts as an accelerated route into management, with the purpose of getting enthusiastic and talented graduates into senior level management roles so that ultimately they become the future leaders of the business.

Bakkavor runs both a UK and International Programme that spans a number of specialisms including Commercial, Development, Finance, HR, Manufacturing and Technical. Each graduate completes a placement in a number of different business units, whilst being guided through a tailored leadership training programme.

Donna-Maria Lee, Group HR Director, said, “We’re delighted to have won the Best Training Initiative, particularly as it is an award voted for by FMT readers. We’re committed to our Early Careers strategy and proud of how successful our Graduate Programme has become.

'As a Group we firmly believe that our future growth depends on the talent we attract, develop and support so that we can maintain and strengthen our leading position.”
