Costa set to reopen two drive-thrus & two sites for delivery tomorrow

As coffee shop chain, Costa has started to look ahead to what the new normal will be, it has made the decision to reopen two Drive-Thru lanes in Manchester and Mansfield, and two stores in Manchester and Bristol tomorrow (Friday), all serving a limited menu.

The two Drive-Thru lanes are both near large hospitals and whilst open to all customers, are intended to offer critical and key workers the chance to enjoy a Costa on essential journeys.

The two stores will be delivery only, meaning customers will not be allowed in to the stores but can order their favourite coffee from the comfort of their own home via Uber Eats, which will deliver.

As part of reopening these stores, the chain will be donating an additional 250,000 Ready to-Drink Costa Coffee cans to nearby key workers, including hospitals, police and fire stations and NHS call centres.

Ahead of Friday, Costa has put in place social distancing guidelines for its teams that align to Government recommendations. It has also enhanced its hygiene procedures and adapted operations to allow the teams to serve great coffee, as safely as possible. Some of these changes include only accepting contactless payments, providing teams with personal protective equipment, enhanced cleaning processes and providing designated pick-up points for delivery drivers.

Over the past four weeks, Costa has managed to keep over 60 stores in hospitals safely open, providing wonderful key workers with a well-earned coffee break.

The brand has also given away over half a million coffees to NHS workers, over a million Ready-to-Drink Costa Coffee cans to key workers and partnered with 35 fantastic food distribution charities and community organisations, including FareShare and Hope Centre, to donate over 21,000 cases of surplus food and drink to those in need.

Additionally, the group has provided nearly 8,000 care packages to NHS workers, including those working at the new Nightingale Hospitals. For more information click here.
