Which? announces Aldi as cheapest UK supermarket


Which? has today announced that Aldi has maintained its position as the cheapest supermarket in the UK for September.

The price comparison looked at the cost for a trolley of 70 items, including groceries and household essentials, with Aldi coming in the cheapest at just £60.01 – £18.27 less than Tesco, a difference of 26.4%.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said, “We know that this is a difficult time for so many families who are feeling the financial impact of Covid-19 and so we are incredibly proud to have maintained our position as the UK’s cheapest supermarket.
