Pub operator, brewer and retailer has sold one of its pubs, The Greenridge at Upton crossroads, which has been derelict for four years to Dorset care home specialist Waypoints Care.
Initial plans in 2008 to build a care home above ground floor shops were rejected, but Purbeck District Council eventually granted permission for a care home in 2011.
An unknown care home company showed interest last December but pulled out because of economic conditions.
It is thought that Waypoints Care will transform the site into a care home for up to 80 people with dementia.
