Elior given red card from Brighton and Hove Albion

Contract caterers Elior have been dismissed by Brighton and Hove Albion stadium with catering rivals Lindley Venue Catering stepping in for the meantime.

Elior, whose stadia brand Azure was operating at the stadium, was ousted by the club’s bosses last week following complaints from fans. Lindley has been brought in at short notice to take over on Saturday, in time for Saturday’s home game against Bolton Wanders.

Lindley, who are already well established within the sports world having contracts already in place at venues such as White Hart Lane (Tottenham FC), Notts County FC and Kent Cricket, to name a few, will now cater for Brighton and Hove Albion until the end of the season. They are also expected to assume responsibility for any corporate events at the stadium including Christmas parties.

Azure announced that it had won the £18m five-year contract in August 2010 and have now said it is in talks with its lawyers regarding the possibility of launching legal action against the football club.
