Two Tribes & Young’s Pubs launch new bar & music venue

This month, London-based brewery Two Tribes has partnered with Young’s Pubs to launch The Salt Room, a new bar and music venue in the heart of Islington.

Formally known as John Salt, the venue has been transformed by Two Tribes, who have brought their signature style of beer, music and art to Upper Street with a series of live music events that will run throughout autumn and winter.

Opening this Friday, 8 October, The Salt Room is located a stone’s throw from Two Tribes’ flagship venue, Campfire in King’s Cross.

The collaboration marks the brand’s first foray into bricks-and-mortar since launching Campfire on the brewery’s doorstep last April, cementing its relationship with the British pub group.

Two Tribes’ Founder, Justin Deighton has been working with Young’s throughout the summer, showcasing its core range of beer as well as creating bespoke mural artwork for a number of its pub gardens.

Music will play a huge part of Two Tribes and Youngs’ new venture. Founder Justin Deighton has called upon up-and-coming and established music talent to man the decks throughout the autumn and winter months.

Two Tribes Radio will play throughout the day at The Salt Room, taking guests through to the weekend, when night falls and the music turns up for the brewery’s ‘Up on Upper Street’ series.

Open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, the venue will host some of the UK’S best DJs, continuing the legacy of music that the brewery has been celebrated for throughout the festival season.

The Salt Room will serve a carefully-chosen selection of Two Tribes’ beers including Metroland Session IPA and PowerPlant Natural lager, as well as Dream Factory and other seasonal releases on rotation.

The menu features Two Tribes favourites dish over from its Campfire venue such as the Metroland caramelised beer wings alongside Youngs’ Burger Shack, offering a selection of classic 100% British beef burgers and plant based patties alongside monthly rotating specials and brunch.

Following their key ethos of bringing like-minded creatives together, and driven by the spirit of collaboration, Two Tribes creative duo, Deighton and Leo Elstob have worked together to create bold interiors at The Salt Room.

The Two Tribes’ brand will be prevalent in the site’s new colourful and eclectic character, seen in the design and the signature murals the brand has become known for.

Deighton said, “Two Tribes has always been about collaboration, and after a summer of good beer, music and festivals we are looking forward to taking up roots at The Salt Room.

'We’re honoured to have worked with Young’s Pubs on this project and together we have created a spot that has something for everyone - from a lunchtime pint to a raucous late night.

'We are looking forward to welcoming in a great roster of DJs throughout the autumn and winter months and can't wait to get going!”
