Punch Pubs & Co launches 25th Fireside pub

The Ship in Elswick, Lancashire, has reopened following a £400k investment by Punch Pubs & Co and becomes the 25th pub to join Punch's Fireside concept within its Management Partnership portfolio.

This news adds to the celebrations following the recent announcement that the Fireside concept has been named a finalist in the ‘Best Pub Brand/Concept' at this years' Publican Awards.

The Ship has been transformed into a true countryside haven, fusing traditional old-world charm with a modern finish throughout its cosy interiors and garden, making it the perfect place to visit with the whole family.

The Queens's butcher Aubrey Allen, who was recently named in partnership with Fireside pubs, will be supplying ingredients for the pub's sumptuous new menu. Delivering a menu that sees quintessential British classics rub shoulders with modern bistro dishes, and plenty of small plates perfect for nibbling on with drinks.

Fireside pubs like The Ship, also house some of the finest drinks ranges you'll find – from classic staples to the latest products – whether it's a great glass of wine, a dapper cocktail, a craft ale or even a barista-served organic coffee or a 'proper' tea from Brew Tea Co.

And all this exquisite food and drink needs a home to match – that's why Fireside pubs are specially selected for their unique character, led by passionate Management Partners.

Operations Director Robin Belither said, 'We are so proud to be reopening The Ship and unveiling its beautiful new look. It's a magnificent country pub, the perfect place to mark the opening of our 25th Fireside pub.

'Achieving this alongside the nomination at the Publican awards is fantastic for Fireside and we're very excited at the prospect of opening even more Fireside pubs across the country.'
