Mother’s Day drives record post-pandemic bookings for Gusto Italian

Premium Italian casual dining restaurant chain, Gusto Italian, expects Mother’s Day to be its busiest single day since before the coronavirus pandemic, as thousands of families celebrate their special occasion in style.

Advance bookings for Mother’s Day across Gusto Italian’s thirteen restaurants are already more than 35% up on the previous busiest date since COVID first hit, which was Friday 17th December. Gift card sales are also booming – up 115% on March 2020 – as sons and daughters look to treat their mums to a memorable meal.

Families can be rest assured that they will receive a first-class experience at Gusto Italian this weekend. The company has consistently outperformed the casual dining sector, with recent Guest Feedback scores (Net Promoter Score) of 89%, compared to a sector average in the mid-60s.

Matt Snell, CEO of Gusto Italian, said, “We know that everybody is feeling the squeeze from food price inflation and rising utility bills, so when people go out for a special occasion, we have to guarantee them an amazing time.

“We want to be the trusted restaurant choice for every special occasion, and Mother’s Day is the perfect opportunity for our restaurant families to do what they do best – provide memorable experiences and incredible Italian food and drink – for mums celebrating with their families.”

Gusto Italian has created a ‘Thanks For Being Mum’ campaign, using crowd-sourced imagery shared by guests, and individual restaurants are holding special events over the weekend, with a floral masterclass in Newcastle, and Brunch With Mum with bottomless fizz in Nottingham.

On Mother’s Day, Gusto Italian’s full Sunday Menu will be available, including 2 course Sunday Roasts with all the trimmings for £20, and there will also be a gift for Mum waiting at each table.
