Co-op serves up newest store in Scottish Highlands


The Co-operative Group has opened the doors of its newest food store in Muir of Ord, Easter Ross.

The convenience retailer’s new, near 3,000 sq ft store, was created in the grounds of its former store in Great North Road, Muir of Ord, and supports 15 local jobs.

Co-op’s new, purpose-built, store is more than 750 sq. ft. larger than its predecessor and, opening between 7am-10pm daily, the new store includes customer car parking, a free ATM;

Fairtrade coffee dispenser - known as Ever Ground and, bakery alongside an enhanced range, choice and focus on fresh, healthy products; meal ideas; everyday essentials; food-to-go; chilled beers and award winning wines; ready meals and pizzas and, free-from; vegan and plant-based products – including Co-op’s exclusive vegan range, GRO.

A new bakery range with a serve-over counter offering hot and cold food by Inverness bakers Harry Gow is available, Amazon Lockers are coming soon for convenient parcel collection, while self-service tills have been added for ease and speed.

Co-op’s soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches – a move which also means that all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable.
