Sodexo secures ten-year contract extension with Wellington College

Independents by Sodexo has extended its contract with Wellington College in Berkshire for an additional ten years.

The contract extension, valued at approximately £80 million, encompasses catering, hospitality, retail, and domestic services—including cleaning, laundry, and logistics—for both Wellington College and Eagle House.

Wellington College, established in 1859, is a co-educational day and boarding school with 1,200 students aged between 13 and 18 years old.

Eagle House is a preparatory and pre-preparatory school situated within the grounds of Wellington College, catering to 360 students aged between three and 13 years old.

Sodexo's 160-member catering team will persist in delivering breakfast and dinner for 1,000 covers, along with lunch for 1,700 covers.

Additionally, Sodexo will provide food service for 600 covers at the versatile V&A Café for Wellington College students. This includes a grab-and-go and street food-style offering developed by the foodservice giant.

Independents by Sodexo has sustained its partnership with Wellington College for more than 60 years and with Eagle House for over 25 years.

Sodexo will persist in collaborating with Klimato to enhance sustainability initiatives, such as implementing carbon labeling on main meals.

Steve Hawkins, managing director, schools for Sodexo UK & Ireland, said: 'Wellington College is a prestigious institution, and we are proud of our team there for delivering excellence every day and providing the client with the confidence to continue with us as their partner for a further ten years.'

Stephen Crouch, chief operating officer, Wellington College: 'We are delighted to renew our long relationship with Sodexo. The Sodexo team is part of the Wellington family and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them.'
