ISS Education retain London Borough of Merton contract

ISS Facility Services Education division has successfully retained its contract with the London Borough of Merton to provide school meal services to all 48 primary schools.

ISS and Merton Council have worked together for the past five years and have worked closely with each other to improve school meal services in the borough. The success of this saw many other local authorities follow in their footsteps and change the ways of their own school meal options. Examples include the re-introduction of on-site cooking in all schools and the improvement in food procurement and ethical standing.

Since 2006, the number of school meals has increased by over 60% to over 6,250, this number now continuously rising.

The 48 primary schools in Merton will have online payment system, Cypad, installed which has recently been implemented in other areas of the business.

The partnership between the two has won a number of accolades recently including the prestigious Food for Life Gold award in 2012. They were also voted the Most Improved Borough for Good Food, also last year.
