Fabulous Feasts wins Lords contract

Jamie Oliver’s catering business Fabulous Feasts has won a three-year contract with Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to be the sole public caterer at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Fabulous Feasts will cater for all major fixtures at the 28,500-capacity venue this summer, kicking off with the first Investec Test Match between England and New Zealand starting 16 May.

The foodservice was previously delivered by a number of organisations including Fine Burger, Pure Pie and Café Spice but the decision was taken to award the contract to one caterer after the MCC felt it was time for a change and a new concept.

Commenting on the new partnership, Jamie Oliver described it as an honour, adding, “Lord’s is such a historic place and I can't wait for people to see what we've got planned. It's going to be match-day food like you'd never expect; we’re talking big flavour, lots of choice, and dishes that are guaranteed to put a big smile on your face. I believe we can make people enjoy their day out even more.'

Fabulous Feasts will open eight new outlets in the Lord’s Food Village, serving a range of food offers that includes flame-grilled British burgers, American-style hot dogs and authentic curries, and uses, where possible, fresh, local ingredients.

Jon Robinson, assistant secretary (marketing & catering), MCC, said, “MCC is delighted to be working in partnership with Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts, in a deal which will set the benchmark for public catering. Lord’s Cricket Ground is renowned for the quality of its food, and this new venture will enhance this reputation further by offering quality fast food at competitive prices.”

MCC declined to reveal the value of the contract.
