Lindley Heritage, the heritage, arts and leisure venue division of The Lindley Group, has won a £2m catering deal with the River & Rowing Museum in Henley, Oxfordshire.
Running for the next 7 years, the deal will see Lindley enhance the visitor experience at the museum’s Terrace Café which is open to both the public and museum visitors, as well as boosting conference and banqueting facilities.
Changes will include new menus which offer hot food freshly prepared to order and which focus on using locally sourced and seasonal produce from suppliers such as Lawlor’s Bakery and Brakspear Beers.
During the 7 years the deal is expected to generate a turnover in excess of £3m.
The independently funded River & Rowing Museum attracts around 117,000 visitors a year and features a dedicated education centre that receives 20,000 education visitors a year.
The venue also offers hospitality services for events, weddings, and corporate and private functions. Rooms include the 120-cover glass-fronted Thames Room; The Henley Room – a boardroom format which has a capacity for 10 people, and is also used as a break-out room for the Thames Room; and The Schwarzenbach International Gallery – which accommodates up to 180 guests.
The appointment is Lindley Heritage’s second museum contract win, having recently won the £5m contract at the RAF Museum in Colindale, North London.
