Central Hall Westminster celebrates 53% rise in turnover

Central Hall Westminster, central London’s largest purpose built conference centre, has announced a 53% year-on-year increase in turnover for its 2013/2014 financial year.

The boost in turnover follows a string of high-profile events at the venue, including the live televised New Year’s Eve concert and Central Hall’s own ‘Meet The Future’, an interactive conference for senior-level event organisers exploring existing and emerging event technologies. Meet The Future alone generated a 41% rise in the value of enquiries at the venue.

The current financial year has resulted in the highest turnover ever recorded by Central Hall and has enabled a complete refurbishment of the basement and conservatory, creating a new event space for up to 1000 delegates, an upgrade of the entrance lobby and the painting of the outside of the building.

Kudos, which is part of the Crwon Group, signed a new five-year contract with the conference centre in 2012. Kudos provides food and venue management services at the venue, extending a relationship that first started over ten years ago.

Paul Southern, Managing Director at Central Hall Westminster, commented, “This has been a fantastic 12 months for us at Central Hall and I’m delighted to see that the hard work and dedication of the team has been reflected in the new figures.

“We’ve used some of the money to update and refurbish the venue, but as a not-for-profit organisation we are very pleased to be able to support a number of charities by donating the remainder of our turnover to these extremely worthy causes.”
