Las Iguanas set to open in refurbed Woking shopping complex

Las Iguanas, the Latin American influenced casual dining brand, is to open a 230 cover restaurant and bar on the newly refurbished Commercial Way in the town centre. The restaurant will open next spring and marks Las Iguanas' Surrey debut.

Las Iguanas began in 1991 and now trades from over 35 locations in the UK. The menu is prepared from fresh ingredients and combines the native Latin American, Spanish, Portuguese and African influences found in South American cooking. Every restaurant provides a range of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and Halal meat options.

Commenting on the addition of Las Iguanas to Woking Shopping, Cllr John Kingsbury, Leader of Woking Borough Council, said, 'Las Iguanas is the latest great restaurant brand to acknowledge the significant opportunity Woking represents and another clear sign of the evolution of the town.

'It joins Bill's, Carluccio's and the Tante Marie culinary academy in creating a concentration of high quality, highly popular restaurants that is a key step forward for Woking Shopping.'

Eren Ali, the Managing Director of Las Iguanas, added, 'The sense of momentum in Woking is tangible, that is what drew us to Woking Shopping for our Surrey debut.

'Amongst the various options we considered, Woking stood out; the town not only has a clear vision, but through the actions of the Council and the other stake holders it is proactively, and very effectively, delivering it. Las Iguanas will add to the town's success, bringing some Latin flair to the mix.'

Las Iguanas is the latest in a series of leading dining brands to select Woking for new restaurants. Along with Bill's, Carluccio's and Tante Marie's Culinary Academy restaurant, over 21,551 sq ft of additional high quality restaurant space has been added to Woking Shopping's Commercial Way, itself subject to a significant refurbishment, since the beginning of the year. Bill's and Carluccio's are expecting to open for Christmas 2014.
