Wandsworth Council gives green light for Battersea Park East project

Wandsworth Council has given planning permission for developer Taylor Wimpey's proposals for a primary school and 290-home development in south London's Nine Elms district.

The proposals for the 1.8 hectare site, to be known as Battersea Park East, includes 10 new mixed-use blocks up to 18 storeys high, a new primary school and a residents' gym.

Also, a total of 3,676 square metres of commercial space has been proposed, most of which would be located around a new public square in the north of the site.

A new primary school for up to 420 pupils would replace the existing St. Mary's Roman Catholic primary school under the plans. The school would be located to the east of the site, and would comprise two storeys of school accommodation and a roof top multi-use games area.
