Rick Stein opens new eatery in Newquay

Rick Stein has opened the doors to his new venture in Fistral, Newquay, which carries the TV chef's name.

The casual dining restaurant is open every day from 9am-9pm serving breakfast, fish and chips, curries, ice creams and a variety of beverages.

From the curry kitchen, diners can expect dishes inspired by Stein’s travels including Goan chicken curry, lamb karahi and pad Thai noodles.

The menu features local fish battered and deep fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp served alongside hand-cut chips and Stein’s homemade tartare sauce, mayonnaise and authentic curry sauce.

Stein commented, “Newquay is a fun place to be and we’re thrilled to finally be here. As well as the traditional fish and chips, we’ve got curries and flavours from the Far East which were actually Jack’s idea, inspired from his time surfing in Indonesia, or Indo as he likes to call it. Great food in a fantastic location, what could be better?”

The casual self-service style of the restaurant means they don’t take reservations, but there’s plenty of space both inside and outside.
