Award-winning Swansea alcohol-free brewer crowdfunds for brewery


Multi award-winning specialist brewer, Drop Bear Beer of Swansea is seeking funding to open an alcohol-free brewery in Wales by the end of the year, with the creation of six jobs.

The campaign, which went live on 1 January, has already reached over £220k from 338 investor of this initial £300k target, although it will continue for £500k-plus.

The company stated, 'We are crowdfunding to raise investment to build a dedicated non-alcoholic craft brewery based in South Wales. The brewery will be only the second of it’s kind in the UK and one of only a handful in the entire world!'

Launched in 2019 by Sarah McNena (pictured left) and Joelle Drummond (right), Drop Bear brews <0.5% craft beers, which are available in six global markets.

With over 160k bottles brewed, and despite the COVID-19 restrictions, Drop Bear's annual revenue has increased by 1,907% to £89.3k (EBITDA -£149k), from October 2019 to October 2020.
