Burger & Lobster puts Manchester site on market to look for smaller space

Burger & Lobster has put its 170-cover Manchester eatery back on the market just 11 months after opening, as it says the site too large.

A spokesperson for the chain told the Manchester Evening News that the company is now searching for a new Manchester city centre space with space for around 90 seats

The group wants to find a new space that provides the intimacy of its flagship restaurant in London's Mayfair, which is a 60-cover space.

Just over three months ago, Burger & Lobster pulled out of opening its first outlet in Scotland at the £107m Marischal Square office and hotel development in Aberdeen. It said that US opportunities were priority as it gears up to launch its second New York City site in September.
