Westfield Stratford Opens To Waiting Crowds


The £1.45bn Westfield Stratford shopping complex has opened it's doors to the public today with shoppers queuing from 6am to get inside the centre. More than 200,000 people are expected to head to the site today.

There are over 70 food and beverage sites at the centre, along with a 32,000sqft Waitrose store and The Great Eastern Market - a traditional market featuring 16 food and delicatessen stalls. Restaurants at the complex include: Giraffe, Sticky Rice, KFC, Las Iguanas, Nandos, Pizza Express, TGI Fridays, YO! Sushi and GBK.

Current occupancy levels stands at 96% and the centre will be home to more than 300 shops, a 14-screen cinema, three hotels, a bowling alley and the UK’s largest casino.
