Second Santa Maria pizzeria opens today in Chelsea


Santa Maria, the much-lauded London pizzeria, is opening a a second restaurant today situated in Chelsea, between the King’s Road, Fulham Road, and Stamford Bridge.

Owners Pasquale Chionchio and Angelo Ambrosi launched the first Santa Maria in Ealing four years ago. The duo also opened Sacre Cuore in Kensal Rise in 2012.

The new 60-cover restaurant is to serve up the same pizzas and daily specials as the original site. It boasts a pizza oven made from bricks made with sand and dust from Mount Vesuvius.

The menu offers specials such as stuffed meatballs with ricotta, smoked mozzarella and nduja, and Aubergine Parmigiana.
