This week saw 108 Garage brush aside many of the old guard to make its debut in the National Restaurant Awards Top 100 - a mere eight months after it launched in London W10.
In what is proving a busy time for the west London favourite, the restaurant will also open its doors on Sundays from this Sunday, 18 June.
In a definite departure from the usual Sunday lunch fare, Chris Denney - described by Giles Coren as “the kind of chef who comes along only once or twice in a decade” - is creating an experimental offering that will see him test out potential new additions to the 108
Garage menu.
The Sunday Experiment will comprise ten different plates, from which diners can choose six for a total price of £35 a head.
All proceeds from the first Sunday will be donated to the fund set up by The Kensington & Chelsea Foundation to help those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.
108 Garage was opened last autumn by Luca Longobardi, a former Wall Street financier who once found himself on Interpol’s most wanted list as part of a crackdown on international banks, and Chris Denney, a chef whose CV reads like an A-Z of Michelin starred locations.
The two men first met after Luca placed an ad on Gumtree looking for a chef “ready to sail on a new adventure in Notting Hill”.
Together Luca and Chris have built 108 Garage from scratch. With their fledgling creation now a bona fide presence on the London dining scene, the two are now collaborating on a new London restaurant and a book, whilst getting ready to export their unique concept globally.
