Japanese restaurant in Liverpool set for site expansion

Almost 11 years after opening, popular Liverpool city centre eatery, Etsu is to expand next door.

The authentic Japanese restaurant, which sits on the corner of The Strand and Brunswick Street, and features an larges outdoor terrace, is now temporarily closed as work gets underway.

Etsu stated that the scheme will increase capacity, provide a larger bar area and allow it to sell Japanese related goods, including fresh food, drinks and crockery.

The first phase of the project will see the restaurant temporarily expand into the former twentyfive bar next door, while plans are finalised for the wider project.

Etsu, founded by David Abe, offers a traditional Japanese menu, which includes sushi, bento boxes, Donburi rice bowl dishes and a selection of Yakimono (grilled food) options.
