Frankie & Benny’s launches new vegan menu for 2020

Italian-American themed UK restaurant chain Frankie & Benny’s has today launched it’s all new vegan menu for 2020 together with an irresistible offer, in an attempt to get more Brits trying a vegan diet this January.

Following the brand's collaboration with world renowned rockstar Meat Loaf, to raise awareness of its Meat Free Monday initiative, Frankie & Benny’s has gone one step further by adding a selection of new plant-based choices to its vegan menu.

Meat Free Mondays sees the restaurant chain offer 50% off of all vegan dishes every Monday in January and - if that wasn’t enough - to help tempt more customers to ‘go vegan’, every vegan main dish will also be half price each and every day this January.

Meat lovers don’t fret. Frankie’s is offering 50% off of all mains throughout January so that no one is left out. There is still something for everyone.

As Frankie & Benny's react to a surge in customer demand for more meat-free options on the menu – with a reported 600,000 vegans in the UK as of 2019 - it has added seven new delicious dishes across the menu. Joining Frankie's Vegan classics like the Viva la Vegan Burger, Plantballs Italiano, and the No-cheesecake.

The all new dishes, including starters, mains and deserts, include:
Vegan Loaded Skins - fully loaded with red pepper, olive and sundried tomato, topped with a vegan cheese alternative and served with vegan mayo.

Mushroom Ravioli - mini pasta parcels filled with Porcini mushroom, spinach, dairy-free cheese and garlic. Deep-fried until crisp and golden. Served with a spicy Arrabiatta sauce for dipping.

Vegan Hot Dog - American style 6” vegan sausage, fried onions and vegan mayonnaise.

Calzone Vegano - folded pizza filled with roasted peppers, courgette, soy protein, Neapolitan tomato sauce, vegan cheese alternative and basil. Served with a salad on the side.

Rigatoni Ragu - rich lentil & soy mince ragu bake with tomato, grilled red pepper, red wine, fennel & thyme. Tumbled together with rigatoni pasta and smothered in vegan béchamel and dairy-free cheese alternative. Topped with rocket.

Chocolate & Raspberry Lava Cake - warm chocolate & raspberry sponge with a gooey top. Served with a scoop of vegan choc-chip ice cream.

Apple Crumble - sweet apple compote topped with vegan oats and a scoop of ice cream.

Elise Ash, Director of Strategy & Brand, said, “Always listening to our customers, and with veganism more popular than ever, we wanted to expand our vegan range. Taking inspiration from our Italian-American classics, and continually striving to improve quality, we have added not just one new dish to our menu but seven.'

On the Meat Free Monday initiative, Ash continued, “We want to encourage diners to swap Meat for Veg this January but we understand that going vegan doesn’t necessarily happen overnight. So, we thought that trying Meat Free Mondays could be a good route in to a vegan lifestyle. Hopefully the initiative and offers will inspire more people to try plant-based meals this Veganuary.”
