Lebanese fine dining group to launch first European site in Harrods next month

Middle Eastern restaurant group, Em Sherif is coming to the UK this January, bringing Lebanese fine dining to Harrods in Knightsbridge, London.

With sites across Beirut, Cairo, Doha, Dubai, Damascus, and Kuwait, the group will now be adding to its profolio with its first restaurant in Europe.

Mireille Hayek, who opened her first eatery in Beirut in 2011, has no formal chef training or experience but her restaurants have impressed celebrities and food lovers alike.

The original Beirut site has been named in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants as one of the top nine female-led restaurants to watch.

Named after her son, who also works with Hayek, Em Sherif restaurants in the Middle East serve up to at least 30 set courses of hot and cold mezze, grills and desserts..

The menu will in London will doubtless feature dishes such as Fattet Battinjan - eggplant fatteh, Hindbeh - sautéed dandelion greens and caramelised onions tossed in olive oil & lemon, Toshka - flatbread stuffed with kebab meat & white cheese, Sambousek Lahme - Lebanese meat pies, and finishing with Bouza tout - a creamy dessert made with sesame paste & hazelnuts.
