New British restaurant Salon opens in Brixton Market


Nicholas Balfe, former head chef at Brunswick House, has opened his owned restaurant located upstairs from the Cannon & Cannon deli in Brixton Market.

The 30-cover contemporary British restaurant called Salon, is collaborating with Cannon & Cannon, the charcuterie and cheese wholesaler to form part of the four-course set menu. Owner and head chef Balfe believes this will be of great help to both businesses. He also revealed hopes to expand the ‘Salon’ concept in the future or to brand out into other cuisine types.

Balfe first worked with Cannon & Cannon in October where he worked as a guest chef for a supper club. His menu at Salon will include dishes such as rosehip fizz, clams & sobrasada and duck hearts with celeriac.
