Casa do Frango to unveil flagship & largest site to date in October

Casa do Frango, the cult favourite piri-piri chicken spot with locations in London Bridge and Shoreditch, has announced the upcoming opening of Casa do Frango Heddon Street, which will open 14 October.

This central London opening, the brand’s flagship and largest site to date, represents an exciting moment for Casa do Frango and will be followed by more openings in the near future. This includes an early 2023 launch for Casa do Frango Victoria, as the team takes their much-loved authentic piri-piri and Portuguese food and drink to new London neighbourhoods.

Situated at 31-33 Heddon Street, the new site will encompass a street level terrace, an expansive, light and airy dining room, a drinks bar (The Green Room) and two private dining rooms. Set over two floors, the restaurant is perfect for groups, families, and couples alike. The restaurant will seat over 200 guests, in an atmosphere abuzz with Southern Portuguese hospitality.

The menu at Casa do Frango Heddon Street mirrors that of the other sites, celebrating what Casa do Frango does best. It is centred around the Algarvian staple of Frango Piri-Piri; half a chicken, brushed with a secret piri-piri recipe that has been perfected over time, drawing on co-founder Marco Mendes’ upbringing in the Algarve region of Southern Portugal. True to the traditions of the Algarve, the open-fire grill is stoked with wood charcoal, for an inimitable flavour and unmistakable char.

Accompanying the signature frango piri-piri is a selection of Portuguese sharing plates, which take inspiration from popular dishes from around the country, as well as sides that are synonymous with the art of Piri-Piri. From Iberico Pork Croquettes and Bacalhau Fritters to African Rice, Batatas Fritas and a Montanheira Salad, the menu will feature staples of Southern Portuguese cuisine.

From the bar, guests can expect a classic White Port & Tonic, Portuguese beer on draught, and a selection of cocktails with Portuguese twists. An all-Portuguese wine list also features Casa do Frango’s own Vinho Verde, Boa Pinga, a lightly effervescent wine created by the team, in collaboration with their friends at Quinta de Santiago.

Casa do Frango co-founder Marco Mendes, commented, “This is a special moment for MJMK and the Casa do Frango team as we bring our signature Frango Piri-Piri to central London, with the opening of our largest site to date.

'There is so much untold in the story of Southern Portuguese culture, which we are honoured to celebrate, and I am incredibly proud to bring the heritage, cuisine, and hospitality of the Algarve, my home, to a new neighbourhood. The team and I are looking forward to welcoming our new neighbours and friends to Heddon Street.”
