Ormer Mayfair by Sofian, the fine dining restaurant located within luxury hotel Flemings Mayfair, has been awarded four Rosettes for the first time at the annual AA Hospitality Awards 2022, held yesterday evening to recognise those restaurants achieving the highest standards of culinary excellence.
Led by 30-year-old chef Sofian Msetfi, Ormer Mayfair by Sofian was just one of three London restaurants to be awarded four new AA Rosettes and one of only nine new four rosettes nationwide.
Four AA Rosette restaurants are considered amongst the “top restaurants in the UK” and where, according to the AA “the cooking demands national recognition”. These restaurants “exhibit intense ambition, a passion for excellence, superb technical skills and remarkable consistency”.
The AA had this to say about Ormer Mayfair by Sofian: “Close to Green Park and Buckingham Palace, this stylish hotel restaurant boasts a premium postcode in the heart of London. Intimate and traditional with a classy art deco look, the oak panelling is offset by striking geometric-striped marble floors. Low lit with crisp white linen, it makes for an elegant setting to enjoy the accomplished cooking of top-drawer ingredients. Flavours are big and technique is precise, but it’s all executed with a lightness of touch.”

Ormer Mayfair by Sofian first opened its doors in Spring 2021 and, just five months later, received a triple AA Rosette. Other accolades for the restaurant include the 2022 Hardens Restaurant Guide, where the restaurant is ranked 3rd for Modern British Cuisine and 22nd in the Top 100 UK Restaurants list.
Sofian serves two tasting menus at Ormer Mayfair by Sofian – six-courses (£85) and eight-courses (£100), including vegetarian options. His menus reflect his Michelin-starred training (Adare Manor, The Hand and Flowers, Midsummer House), devotion to his craft, passion for British ingredients and uncompromising standard.
