Flat Iron to open at Westfield in West London next week

Flat Iron is opening at London’s flagship shopping centre, Westfield London on 3 October. Situated in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush, the much-loved steak restaurant will continue to bring its ethos of serving the best quality and great value steak to West London.

The newest restaurant from Flat Iron will continue to centre around the signature ‘Flat Iron’ steak, a cut taken from the often under-used feather blade of the animal, known for its rich flavour and tenderness.

The restaurant will also serve their ‘Herd Burger’, a reinvention of the classic cheeseburger designed by Head of Beef, Fred Smith. Two beef patties from the Flat Iron herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire, are layered with Ogleshield cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, a generous spread of their house burger relish and sandwiched between two brioche buns.

The much-loved beef dripping chips will be joined by indulgent sides such as crispy bone marrow garlic mash, macaroni cheese and creamed spinach.

Drinks on offer include a short and considered wine and draught beer list and a new cocktail list with modern classics such as Dry Daiquiri and Pisco Punch.

The large corner restaurant has 116 covers in its dining room and a heated, covered terrace with an additional 38 covers. Designed by interior architecture and design studio Macauley Sinclair, the restaurant is recognisably Flat Iron with a palette of dark stained oak panelling, deep green paintwork and rich wood finishes.

Design highlights include a belt driven mechanical system of wooden fans from a specialist maker; the bar and ice cream counters, built from salvaged Victorian white glazed bricks, and the illuminated arched back bar centre piece, formed from a decorative antique mahogany fan light window, glazed with handcrafted leaded stained glass panels in brown, amber and green glass.

Flat Iron’s Head of Beef Fred Smith says ‘We’re thrilled to be opening a new restaurant amidst the hustle and bustle of Westfield shoppers. We can’t wait to welcome West London locals and out of towners in for remarkable steak’.

Katie Wyle, General Manager at Westfield London says: “We’re pleased to welcome Flat Iron to Westfield London, as it joins a host of exciting restaurants, leisure and dining concepts at the centre. It’s a brilliant addition, and one we’re excited about being able to offer to local residents, visitors and workers - as well as guests from further afield.”
