Tashas to open first UK restaurant at Battersea Power Station this summer

Tashas, the much-loved cafe concept that started in South Africa from international hospitality collective Tashas Group, will open its first UK restaurant at Battersea Power Station, London’s exciting new riverside neighbourhood this summer.

The 4,000 square foot site sits on Prospect Way and will also have a beautiful large outdoor terrace. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant will serve some all-time favourites such as the Butternut Zucchini Rosti, Dr Paw Paw, Lemon Chicken, and the famous Texas Salad.

Founded in Johannesburg in 2005 by Natasha Sideris, Tashas has 15 locations in South Africa and six in the UAE.

Built on the philosophy of beautiful food served in elegant environments with engaging service, Tashas is known for its warm and laid-back approach, and for serving unpretentious, generous comfort food in stylish settings.

Every Tashas venue is unique in its own way, with its own distinctive style inspired by a place or a time, reflected in both the menus and the design of each individual location.

The space will be designed by Natasha and design studio Verhaal, and is an updated version, reminiscent of the original tashas location in Atholl, Johannesburg that opened nearly 18 years ago with light, bright, easy interiors featuring work from contemporary South African designers and artisans.

Natasha said of the opening, “We are thrilled to be opening at Battersea Power Station as our first UK location. At Tashas, we are passionate about curating memorable moments with great food in beautiful environments. We can’t wait to bring the tashas brand of hospitality to London.”

Sam Cotton, Head of Asset Management at Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC), added, “It’s always exciting to welcome a new dining venue or brand opening, which is why we’re so pleased Tashas will be launching its first UK restaurant at Battersea Power Station this summer.

'We’re sure the restaurant’s delicious food and beautiful decor will be a big hit with visitors to this new riverside neighbourhood.”
