Target Catering Equipment recognised as one of most sustainable in Midlands

A Gloucester-based catering equipment manufacturer, which specialises in sustainable products, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Made in the Midlands Awards 2019.

Target Catering Equipment has been shortlisted in the ‘Green/Sustainable Manufacturer’ category of the acclaimed awards and will now come up against seven of the region’s elite sustainable-led businesses for the coveted accolade.

The family-run firm, which was founded in 1988 by David and Elizabeth Pedrette, has been producing quality, bespoke catering equipment to the foodservice industry for over 30 years.

Target is widely known for its commercial induction ranges, which have been recognised as highly sustainable products by industry body CESA/FCSI and the Carbon Trust.

Its TR-E+ model, in particular, incorporates a heavy duty 4-zone induction hob, an induction plancha and a convection oven, which provides ultimate energy efficiency within commercial kitchens.

David Pedrette said, “We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Made in the Midlands Awards 2019, especially as we’ve been recognised for our manufacturing of sustainable equipment.

“We know how crucial green and sustainable values are in achieving a prosperous and successful business for future generations, as well as ensuring a healthier environment. As a leading catering equipment manufacturer, we’re deeply passionate about sustainability and have helped to deliver thousands of pounds worth of Carbon Trust grant funding to our clients, which has assisted them in the purchase of equipment.”

Target also design complete commercial kitchens, including kitchen ventilation systems and has assisted customers with overcoming difficult ventilation and equipment issues that have caused contractual problems and require compliance with strict planning and DEFRA guidelines.

Pedrette added, “ Just being shortlisted in these awards is a testament to the hard work our family-run team put into manufacturing green equipment our clients can be proud of, but going on and winning the award would be truly special.

“These awards highlight those who are going the extra mile in producing more sustainable products which is fantastic, and I’d like to wish all fellow finalists the best of luck!“

The Made in the Midlands Awards 2019 are organised by Insider Media, the UK’s most successful regional B2B media company.

The elite judging panel of industry experts whittled almost 70 entries down to the eventual finalists, and will announce the overall winner at a black tie event today at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham.
