Wexiödisk appoints new UK & Ireland Country Manager

Wexiödisk UK has appointed David Glover as their new UK & Ireland Country Manager, ahead of the impending retirement of John Shepherd, who has held the role for the past four years.

Glover brings with him invaluable industry experience, having spent his entire career in the foodservice industry, both working as a chef, as well as fulfilling senior sales roles for the likes of Rational, Electrolux and various equipment dealers.

Glover joins Wexiödisk from USS Catering where he has held the position of Sales Director for the past four and a half years. David will officially start the role in July, where he will spend eight weeks working closely with John and the team in Sweden, to get up to speed with the Wexiodisk equipment range and wider business ethos.

Glover is delighted to be starting this exciting role with Wexiödisk having developed a close relationship with the warewashing experts in his role at USS Catering. He said, ”From the moment I was introduced to Wexiödisk at USS Catering, I was blown away by the brand’s innovative and sustainable approach to warewashing.

'In fact, so passionate was I about the brands warewashing portfolio that I secured USS Caterings’s first Wexiödisk sale which has since led to the company’s machines being specified on numerous different projects.”

Henrik Florentzson, Sales & Marketing Manager at Wexiödisk, said, “David’s familiarity and passion for the Wexiödisk brand, in addition to his impressive foodservice career, are factors which make him the perfect candidate for this position.

'We are truly excited to welcome him to the Wexiödisk team and look forward to working closely with him on some very exciting UK projects and launches.”

After more than four years with Swedish warewashing giant Wexiödisk, and over forty years dedication to the foodservice industry, John Shepherd will officially retire on the 30th of August 2019.

Since starting his career as a young chef, Shepherd has gone on to work with an array of leading equipment brands including Falcon, Rational, Welbilt, Middleby Group and most recently, Wexiödisk, where he has increased the company’s market share in the UK & Ireland, and in so doing introduced some remarkably sustainable warewashing appliances in the process.

Magnus Titusson, Managing Director, said, “It’s been a pleasure to work with John over the past four years. On behalf of the entire Wexiödisk team, I would like to thank John for his hard work and dedication in raising the profile of Wexiödisk across the UK market. We would like to wish John a relaxed and enjoyable retirement and all the best for the future.”
