Wetherspoons serves up Kopparberg strawberry & lime on draught

A total of 600 Wetherspoon pubs across the UK are now serving Kopparberg premium cider with strawberry and lime on draught. By the end of July, all 872 of the company’s pubs will be serving the product.

Kopparberg draught cider is Swedish and is produced in the UK. Kopparberg Breweries owner and managing director, Peter Bronsman, said: “ We have enjoyed a great relationship with Wetherspoon since 2005. We are very excited to see Wetherspoon pubs serving our cider on draught.”

Wetherspoon’s founder and chairman Tim Martin added: “ Kopparberg is extremely popular in our pubs and I know that our customers will welcome the fact that one of its ciders is now available on draught.

“Draught Kopparberg is now produced in the UK at The Showerings Cider Mill in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, by Brothers Drinks Co and Kopparberg.

“Following our substitution of French champagne and brandy for UK, Australian and American alternatives, the Kopparberg initiative shows that scare stories about the danger to UK consumers from blocked ports and planes not flying are wide of the mark.

“Provided the UK leaves the EU without a ‘deal’, we avoid the payment of £39 billion to Brussels, regain control of fishing and can eliminate tariffs on thousands of non-EU imports, reducing prices in shops.

“Enterprising companies like Kopparberg will keep trade routes open, since it’s in their own interests, and we look forward to trading with them for many years to come.”
