Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM) has appointed a new Sales Director, Mike Inwood, a highly experienced operator who has worked in the foodservice industry for almost 25 years.
Inwood will be taking over from Jim Doherty, who is retiring later in 2020. Initially, both men will work alongside each other before Doherty hands over the reins.
Inwood has worked for some of the biggest names in the industry, most recently as Sales and Marketing Director at Victor Manufacturing. Before that, he was the National Account Manager with both Williams and Falcon.
However, he’s also had experience in the lighter side of the catering equipment industry, having started his career with Buncher & Haseler and Samuel Groves, before working with Apuro.
“Obviously these are very challenging times for all of us,” said Inwood. “We have to be mindful of what our dealer customers require from us and what difficulties are facing end-users. I have been told on many occasions that FEM’s customer service is second to none. We need to continue to offer that support and training.”
Inwood is looking forward to working with FEM. He added, “This is a company that sources innovative and high-end products, offering a wide variety of brands and equipment, and that really excites me.
'They are very proactive – their customers come to them for innovative ideas that define ;what’s next; in the industry. The fact that FEM has won Light Equipment Supplier of the Year three times shows how highly distributors regard them.”
Inwood is also looking forward to working alongside Jim Doherty. “It’s a shame that I will only get to work with Jim for a transition period of a few months,” he said.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have attracted a man of Mike’s calibre to the team,” added Mark Hogan, commercial director of FEM. “I know he’s going to make a big impact and play a huge role as we come to grips with our changing world.”
Inwood will take over from Doherty, later this year as he retires. Doherty, alongside Managing Director, Harry Hogan founded FEM back in 1993.
