From the pair behind the E1 rooftop cocktail bar, Culpeper, comes The Green gastropub, which has opened on London's Clerkenwell Green.
Nico Treguer and Gareth Roberts is planning the structural refurbishment to be completed later in the new year, which will also include a rooftop once again.
The Green offers a bar with lighter bites, like Devilled crab on toast, and Pork & pistachio terrine with cornichons. Starters include Jerusalem artichoke soup, Mussels with cider & bacon, and White crab, fine herbs, endive & mayonnaise salad.
For main dishes there are Roasted winter vegetables, saute potatoes, blue cheese, hazelnuts, Whole grilled plaice, salsify, leeks, beurre blanc, and Lamb shoulder, suet pudding, purple broccoli, anchovy and garlic crumb.
To finish there are sweet treats like Panna cotta with cookies & hot chocolate sauce, Pear & almond tart with creme fraiche, and Rice pudding with armagnac prunes.
Guest ales rotate fortnightly, and there are natural wines from Les Caves de Pyrene, plus there will be cocktails on the drinks list early next year.
