With London's burger scene booming, Yen Burger is bringing something new to the capitals dining scene.
CDG Leisure secured a site at 1B Southwark Street, for the brand, which is opening at the end of June. The new Japanese urban-inspired restaurant will sit among some of your favourites at Borough Market.
This brand new concept will offer premium Asian-influenced burgers, combining unique ingredients such as Japanese chili and Kim-chi mayonnaise, plus Asian herbs including 'Shiso', a Japanese leaf known for its great taste and amazing health benefits.
With 'no frozen food' being one of Yen Burgers highest priorities, each burger will be freshly made in-house from the best quality Aberdeen Black Angus or Wagyu beef, 100% sustainable cod or vegetable alternatives to ensure all ingredients are fresh every day and packed full of rich nutrients for the best possible taste.
A gluten-free option completes the burger range. All of the bread buns will be sourced locally and freshly made every day at 'Bread Ahead' especially for Yen Burger. Alongside this, healthy side options will include the crunchy Asian coleslaw, freshly steamed edamame beans or homemade sweet potato chips.
One of Yen Burgers unique offerings is its extensive Asian influenced cocktail menu, which boasts a vast range of spice-infused aperitifs, charged with fresh kumquat, calpis and livening fresh mint.
Seating will be spread across two spacious floors for up to 70 guests, not including the bar area, where guests can enjoy a signature cocktail and watch the chefs hard at work in the open kitchen.
Yen Burgers opening follows the success of its owner Yen Nguyen and her previous experience at some of the UK and Germany's leading restaurants.
Nguye commented, “Although I grew up in Europe surrounded by lots of great western food chains, I could never go a day without my mother’s delicious Asian cuisine. Therefore, I wanted to create something that is truly unique and combines western food with and light east Asian ingredients - an Asian burger. The opening of Yen Burger sees this dream come to fruition and I’m so excited to start welcoming guests into the restaurant'.
Sammy Weinbaum, CDG Leisure, who brokered the deal, added, “We are very excited to secure this off-market deal for Yen. This will be the UK debut and the flagship location in a brilliant part of London. We look forward to seeing it become a fast favourite for workers, residents and tourists alike.”
