This March, Luke Wasserman, Toby Neill and Johnnie Crowe, the team behind popular Hackney restaurant Nest, will open Fenn, a new seasonal British restaurant on Wandsworth Bridge Road, Fulham.
Inspired by Fulham’s proximity to the Thames, Fenn takes it’s name from the old English word for ‘low-lying wetland’, symbolising the restaurants commitment to serving locally sourced, British seasonal dishes.
Continuing the approach taken in their sister site, the restaurant will focus on creative produce-driven cooking that celebrates the very best this country has to offer.
Executive Head Chef Johnnie and Head Chef Joe Laker, formerly of Anglo, have worked closely together to curate an opening a la carte menu and Chef’s set menu which features dishes such as Lincolnshire Poacher Cheese and Truffle Dumplings; Hand Dived Scottish Scallop with Chicken Butter Sauce; Aged Yorkshire Beef, Parsnip & Pickled Walnut and English custard tart.
Front of House will be overseen by Harry Cooper whom, alongside co-founder Wasserman, has hand selected a range of sustainably produced wines and seasonal cocktails to complement the menu.
The main dining room is centred around a single hand carved ash wood table which seats up to 8 guests with additional tables surrounding it. The frontage of the restaurant features folding French windows, which flood the space with natural light, acting to balance the earthy tones found throughout the room.
In the warmer months doors will be thrown open to create a broader terrace area, accommodating 14 diners and creating an additional space for those looking to stop by for a glass of wine and a snack before their meal, or on their way home.
Those looking for a private dining space will be invited through the kitchen and downstairs to Fenn’s new wine cellar – a cosy and intimate private dining space which seats up to 16 guests.
A wall of wine dominates the room, with bottles on display for guests to peruse and sample mid meal, whilst a fully stocked antique cocktail cabinet offers drinks for those looking for a something a little stronger. Here, Head Chef Joe has created a special feasting menu which will be available exclusively for private diners.
Co-founder Toby Neill said, “I’m looking forward to opening the doors to Fenn and bringing a taste of what we do at Nest to West London. It’s been a tough few months but we’re excited to finally be opening the doors and getting back to what we do best.'
Co-founder Johnnie Crowe added, 'We’ve worked so hard to create great relationships with farmers and local producers over the past four years and I can’t wait for Fenn to open to be able showcase it.”
